Yes, ladies and germs, it's KOIGU time!
Well.... almost.
I had promised not to wind or knit any of my incredibly yummy new Koigu until I'd finished the Guitar Sox. Talk about a motivator! I whipped out that second sock right smartly.
See those happy feet? They're dressed in Guitar Sox whose final toe graft was finished just before dinner last night. That's Zars's tail swishing about in the foreground.
Ignore her. She's just trying to horn in on the photo op -- but won't sit still long enough to have her picture taken. She likely wouldn't have cared at all, but Gabriel was being so cute I had to take his picture, and now Zara feels left out.
Such is life.
With any luck, I'll round up someone to take a picture of the reason they're called guitar sox. But I'm just not a good enough contortionist to get that side of my ankle into a picture.
Speaking of luck..
You would not believe the joy that hit that dear blogless friend of mine today!! She called me, knowing that only another knitter would understand, and now I just have to share the fun with you guys.
She enjoyed the Dive Teseo that I had found at the LYS, which I'd bought in orange for my Secret Pal's present. She enjoyed it so much that she bought what they had in the nifty green. There was not enough nifty green for a full sweater. She brooded. She yielded, and ordered some from an on-line store ... it arrived yesterday. And... yes...
its the same dye lot! The knitting gods love her!
I suggested that she track down my new koigu color to order it for me... maybe I'd luck into the same dye lot too..... (BTW, if YOU happen to have any skeins of Koigu KPPPM Color P329 in lot 60 lurking in your stash .... Let Me Know.... I'll trade new koigu or cash or .... ) Then I could make a big thing out of it! 525 yds doesn't go quite as far as I'd like, but it goes much farther than a pair of socks.
Sadly, this means that though I'll be winding my Koigu, I won't be casting on, as I've not decided what I'll be making.... Default may yet be socks. I lerrve koigu socks.... and yet... there could be enough for a garment for the top of my body here.... that would be even better!
So, while I wait for a few Koigu feelers to bring in responses, I'm working on Dan's sweater. You remember that, eh? I abandoned it in disgust in favor of gifts for other folks and my own socks when I realized that I need to retrofit about five and a half inches across the front. This morning, I think I finally figured out how to get that done without it looking painfully stupid, and have cast on 31 stitches for the first of those strange insets that we're going to call extra wide button bands (because we can). Only about ten stitches worth will actually be button band, but we won't tell, right? It's a design feature. yeah, that's it....
If my camera quits behaving badly, I might even get pictures of it for you later today.

Those are some pretty pretty socks (and that's a naughty cat!)
I love the happy ending of the Matching Dye Lots - that's enough to make one jump for JOY!
