And thus, according to my previously made promises, it's time to talk about Mermaid!
But first, some rare cute cat photos.
On the Day of Gift Giving, Gabriel was having lots of fun with part of the newspaper... (okay it was the funnies, but that's not really important). After attacking it for a while, he snuck underneath as though that would hide him from the paper so he could assault it again.
Note the slight bushing of the tail.
Once he emerged, he wouldn't look at me. I thought at first that he was just being coy,
but soon realized that he was decidedly miffed with me for taking that picture:
He simply would not look at me.
Okay.... I'm not just trying to distract you from the fact that it's still Monday.I really do have something to show for the past few days of freedom to knit what I want (even though I also reveled in the freedom to not knit in every moment where knitting is possible).
When you're not frantically working on Holiday Gift Knitting, it is possible to make visible progress on other things, even if you're somewhat lax in applying yourself.
When last you saw her, I'd just finished my dear Mermaid's under arm, and had begun the shoulder. I may have even made it to the first gusset on the back. Now...
I've made it all the way across the center back (and it's upper gusset), and am mere rows away from starting the second of the back's lower gussets! I've passed the half way point on the body! Woo hoo!
Isn't she just lovely? Preen preen. And we have TV time actually planned for the next day or so -- which means knitting time for me. <grin>
I don't have much else to report. My father, and his wife (the best step-mother on the planet) are here visiting for New Years. We're talking about all sorts of things, and trying to calibrate our feeding schedules.
I'll try to knit on at least one of the other mystery WIPs before my next post, if only so that you can get more hints.
