Good Morning Blog Readers,
We lugged stuff in from the car. It seemed to take forever. Where did all that stuff come from? Why do we have it all? and how did I forget AGAIN that it's just not hot here?? What's with all those tank tops? and where are my slippers???
But that's okay. I wallowed in the views some more
That lovely barn - complete with box stalls, and a lean-to on the other side to protect sheep or horses or goats from driving rain or sun or....
Dad built that barn. It's a post-and-beam barn. I helped install some of the perlins upon which the roof rests. (6x6's ... dang they're heavy). I helped put on the underlayment for that roof too.
So far, the barn holds Dad's workshop, and the mower -- even had a tractor for a time, but they sold it this year. The only beasties it's seen are the dogs, and a guest's horse (one of their friends travels, with horse, from Michigan to Newfoundland every year -- they stop here on the way).
Alas, this is our last year for looking at or playing in the barn. They're selling this wonderful house and moving inland a bit. Deep sigh.
However, the new house won't be heated with the wood that Dad chops up from trees he's cut down on his property. That means he won't have to work nearly as hard to keep it comfy in the winter.
SO.... after squirreling away the seemingly endless stream of bags and baggage from the car, I sat in a chair and split my time between knitting and looking at this:
Ahhhhhhh........ it's so hard to be productive when you have that to look at....
