Ooops.
I slipped.
My credit card had a little accident during the Cherry Tree Hill Labor Day Sale.
When the package first arrived, I thought that out of stock issues had saved me from myself. I mean look how small they managed to get the bag...
It's smaller than my keyboard!
But add a little air back in, and ... well... um... ahem.
Have you seen Sweeney Todd? The rest of this post tried really hard to work if sung to the tune of Poor Thing (He had this wife, you see
Pretty little thing, silly little nit
Had her chance for the moon on a string
Poor thing! Poor thing...)
I was going to struggle on until I got the post to really truly work
with that song... but I figure that there aren't that many of you who
would get it anyway. It does okay if you skip sections of the music. But anyway, that's why the rest of this reads so strangely. can't get the bloody song out of my head.
Specially for socks, tempting me to buy them, at a price that I could not resist. Poor me.
It had these friends you see,
Specially for shawls, magical and rare shawls*,
Dyed up in the jewel tones I love.
poor me, poor me
But there was worse yet to come, poor me.
The yarn they tell me is all on sale, poor me, poor me
They won't be making this yarn again,
And one was just right for my good friend, poor me, poor me.
I could not resist adding two more skeins,
.
My credit card leapt out and typed, you see, It charged all this yarn while I drooled...
It figured I had to be daft you see, The site just sat there and laughed you see... poor me... poor soul.
Would no yarn have mercy on me.....
It sort of works if you don't need all the verses.
I clearly need to clear my brain of old show tunes though (yep, I know it from the Broadway musical, which I saw when it went through Chicago in ... oh.... sometime last century. I even saw Angela Lansbury -- but I can't recall if Len Cariou was in the title role there.)
And what does it say about me that writing about Yarn leads me to hum THAT show?
(My consolation is that some of this was intended as gifts from the get go. I feel less guilty about buying more yarn when I know that it's not ALL going to be absorbed in my stash).
* It's Orenburg lace yarn. OMG
.

Snort....well one person got it. Thanks a lot. Now Angela is in my head too....

First off, Daedulus is GORGEOUS! It fits the shoulders so perfectly and the patterning looks fabulous from the back as well.
Secondly, Orenburg lace yarn? Ooooo. Sweet.

Hi and thanks for entering my contest. You would enjoy my farm blog too. I just got done carding a lot of my wool to spin into yarn. A vest is the final destination!
