I got not much right now.
Bookworm performed in an awesome band concert Thursday night. The sixth graders sounded better than any sixth grade band has any business sounding, and then the 7th/8th grand band just rocked. Even the pieces that I didn't particularly like were played so well! Totally in tune, all the time... which meant that I spent most of the time with goosebumps. (Perfectly tuned chords do that to me).
Their last piece included all sorts of technical rhythmic challenges that one really does not expect to encounter in a middle school performance (try changing time signatures between 3/4 and 5/4 willy nilly throughout a piece that started in 4/4 time). But, as I've come to expect with this director, they handled the piece with panache. Full auditorium gave a well deserved Standing O ... absolutely. And not just 'cause they were our kids either.
I was not in a good zone for photography. All I've got for you is this:
well... and this
As you can see, Wings of Bambu has become so scrunched up on it's needles that it's not posing well for pictures.
Though it is open enough to show the place where I diverged from the pattern... ahem.
I could try another close up of Irtfa'a, but, well, four more rows won't impress anyone.
Mostly, all I want to do is vent about how frustrated I am with the fellow who was allegedly going to get this painting job done in 4 days, 5 tops, and who is STILL here (yes, today) three weeks later.
Instead, I offer you an adorable dog --
taken on one of my knit-night buddies cell phones. I guess we wore her out with all our laughter.
And a very cute kitty demonstrating her cuddling/knit-prevention skills
She did notice the picture taking...

That looks like a very happy kitty who might make for a jealous husband...
