So..
Life here in Shadowland has been all about trying to make my house ready to sell. This has entailed all sorts of cleaning frenzies. Like the garage ... where, somewhere in the process of taking almost everything OUT so we could sweep the winter's accumulation of dirt and yuck from the floor, I found this:
This is a cute measuring tape that the folks at VW evidently gave me with my car. In 2007 when I bought the car. No, I can't explain why I didn't know of it's existence until this week. However, I can show you why it's special. It's got cool stuff marked on the tape... helpful stuff, like this:
That information let me know -- before lots of manhandling of furniture was involved -- that a 7' long sofa would indeed fit in the back of my car with only 5" hanging out the back. It also confirmed that the back hatch is both wide and tall enough so that said sofa would actually go IN there. (Who me? impressed with my car yet again? why yes, I am thank you). Thus, not only did I get what I asked for when I sold that couch -- I got a $25.00 bonus for delivering it!
The cleaning frenzy also led to removing everything from the laundry room. A place which had grown crowded over the years, serving both as a place to do laundry and iron things, but also as a place to store things and as a staging area for stuff that we didn't feel like putting all the way away yet. Even pretty well cleaned up, it looked --- dense.
Now it looks cavernous
Golf Pro even got in on the game, and took to the back porch with the power washer.
That lets this little surprise look even better when viewed from the yard.
For the first year, our wisteria is BLOOMING! Up till now, the best we've gotten has been three blooms. (Lovely to be sure, but only three).
Yay! I can't wait to see those blooms all the way out.
It's good to have a bright spot or two in what is feeling like a pretty gloomy outlook around here.

No offense, but where did that stuff GO? I'm..highly impressed. Flabbergasted.

Your laundry room looks amazing! Like you. . . don't do laundry in it anymore. . . Isn't it something. . . what you'll do to sell your house!
Wisteria is one of my favorites! The scent will be heavenly!

Some is in boxes; some is in the bag to goodwill; some is waiting folks
to come buy it.
Some has been relocated to other spaces in the house.
I need a bag of holding :-)
