I'll need some to go with this whine...
Thursday, I spent too much time on the phone...
I spent 5 minutes pushing buttons and holding in order to reach the person at ComCast who could explain certain unexpected charges on my bill. The result - mixed. Some are there because they restructured billing and, oh yeah, raised the prices. One was there because, well, they screwed up.
Then, I turned my attention back to bill paying. That stack of paper never seems to dwindle. I had one bill for a card on which I owed about $625.00 as of the previous statement, and my minimum payment was $10.00. Over the course of the most recent, month over $325.00 was credited to that account. I assumed that when over 50% of the balance due is dealt with, and when the amount credited to an account exceeds the minimum payment by 3,000%, while I'd incur interest, I'd not incur a late fee if I did not send another $10.00 in. Silly me.
The only way for those credits to my account to have been enough to avoid a late fee would have been for them to pay off the entire account in full.
And then, I spent some more time on the phone, being passed from person to department to person. Why? So that I could schedule a lovely test to find out what the bloody hell is wrong with my stupid shoulder. I get to discover the joys, wonders, and (undoubtedly pain) of an MRI with an arthrogram. They're gonna inject some dye, and then some air into my shoulder, and while the air is in there, they're going to make me move my shoulder around while they x-ray it. Then, they'll dash me over to the MRI machine to take more exciting pictures. They say that "After the examination, you may experience swelling and discomfort. You may apply ice to the joint to reduce swelling if it is bothersome." Some discomfort huh? I wonder if I'll be able to drive myself home.
And then... I dashed off to a board meeting.... and hoped to sleep in preparation for another journey to St. Louis.
