This week it seems as though my focus is on one of two things -- that pesky shoulder, or Irtfa'a.
There are unlikely to be shoulder updates, but I may plague you with incessant Irtfa'a updates.
Here, for example, we have 28 repeats of the feathery edging - complete with all those lovely beads.
If I had not ... adjusted ... the pattern along the way, I'd be more than half way to the center line by now.
If.
Instead of focusing on that, I'm gonna give you a close up of the feathers.
I don't think I've stretched the boundaries of reasonable beading too far have I?
But life is not all beads and biceps around here.
I stretch the boundaries in other ways too.
And on Monday, I had help from my co-moderator over at Seasons of Lace.
I did something I've been scared to do for a long time -- perhaps its because to get to the end result (which I've wanted all along), I had to go through this:
Yes... that's a raised eyebrow. At that point, there was clearly no going back. So I went forward, and spent a while looking like this (while knitting Irtfa'a edging)
Now all we need is better lighting, or a better photographer, to show you the results. What colors do YOU see?

Ok, the feathers really are gorgeous. They really do finish off the shawl. And the beads on the edging are wonderful.
I still can't believe you added that color to your hair...well, actually I can; that's my excuse for MY being too scared to do something like that.
Has the hubby noticed yet?

Irtfa'a is gorgeous - I can't wait to see it in person!
And I can't tell what color that is - purple? burgundy? Not green! ;-)

Do you think if you laid the Irtfa'a on your shoulder it would help at all?
