So, while I wasn't watching, the calendar pages have been flying off, and suddenly, Golf Pro's birthday is right around the corner.
I have this wee delusion that I'll be able to knit up the second sock in this pair by next Monday... (evening).
This evening I managed to finish off the ribbing, and knit most (well, okay, 2/3) of the cable that hides the calf shaping. That did involve reading the first sock pretty closely though, as I've managed to mislay the notes I took while creating it. I tried charting for a while, but would have had to teach myself how to create symbols for the charting software (I keep using things like sl2 to cn, hold in front, p1, k1 from cn, ssk using rem stitch on cable needle and next st on left needle). Sure wish someone would create standard symbols for stuff like THAT.
So, I gave up on the charting, and just knit. I'll regret that later, as I think this sock will play well, and would love to finish writing up the pattern to sell it.
I've got my priorities though -- and having a decent birthday surprise for Golf Pro trumps writing up the pattern this week.
After all, I still have five full days, plus some time on Monday... right?
