What a lovely welcome to the new year...
I slipped away quietly to enjoy a small gathering of friends north of Chicago on New Year's Eve, then slipped further north to enjoy a New Year's brunch in Kenosha, Wisconsin the next morning. There was lots of good food and good friends (and good drinks even). And best of all, thanks to friends again, I did not do ANY of the driving! w00t!
I rode the train up, and enjoyed intermittent conversations with a charming young man who works at Argon Labs. I was fetched at Union Station in Chicago by two lovely friends, who whisked me away for a pleasant lunch, and then took me to a movie (Tron -- very pretty), before we ventured up to the far north for the party.
On Saturday, I rode home with another friend who had been north for the week. She and I enjoyed a rare journey with no children in the car....
And on that journey, on January 1, 2011, I started a new project -- a new design even.
It was all glorious.
Alas, I have no pictures. (yet)
Once home, I contacted the testing pool on Ravelry -- and lined up testers for FOUR patterns
And today... I spent the day working on the background stuff for the Seasons of Lace blog. It's amazing how much time that stuff takes, and how little it shows on the blog itself. Ah well, I try to look at it as productivity, since it does make things easier for the back-stage crew.
