A friend of mine's co-worker has been diagnosed with leukemia :-(
She's asked me to knit a hat for him, and though I tried to get my yarn to work with the patterns she liked... it just didn't work. (Doesn't this sound familiar?)
So, I've been designing a yummy cabled hat with some of that yummy alpaca yarn I posted about recently. The results? lookin' good so far!
Why is it that whenever I get a good design, I wind up giving the finished product away?
And this time, I've gone and knit it in dark navy, so getting decent pictures will be --- shall we say a challenge. Looks like I'll either have to knit a second one, or put out the call for testers again. I'm starting to feel like a real designer all of a sudden. One pattern already out with testers .... another about to go out before the week is out. Day-am!
Meannwhile, I seem to have lost my photo mojo. (Actually, I just let the camera run out of juice, and keep forgetting to recharge it.)

Well, you're not giving away inebriate of air, are you?
Maybe knitting for others forces you to use your design-fu. Plus, when you're knitting for others, you've got a deadline; so you "make it work" instead of putting it aside for when you've got more time.
Speaking of taking pictures, could I get your help on taking good (and day lit) pics of my autumnal feathers socks? Oh, and my Russian fairy tale skirt?
