I've been working on this lovely pair of socks for what seems like ever.
In the interim, I've finished other socks, and other projects. But this pair of socks feels interminable.
Until this week, it hasn't really felt that way. I've been plugging away, a little at a time. But recently, the many twisted, crossed stitches in every round began to wear on me. I have begun to contemplate bailing on the lovely cables and converting to simple ribbing (okay, maybe not simple ribbing -- I'll likely keep the twisted stitches running up into the ribbing).
But, I've been resisting the urge -- and I think I've made it. I will be going to ribbing, but only for the appropriate top two inches. The socks are long enough, and the remaining yarn is running out .... it's time.
I'm almost done, at last.
I'm glad I held out.
