Cleaning up the guest room, and poking my nose into the Yarn Closet, I discovered the following projects that I hope will wind up in this year's productivity review.
There's the beach/pool "cover-up", started years ago by my dear friend JoAnn who got frustrated with working sport/fingering weight yarn on size 13 needles and handed the whole project off to me.

I too found the huge needles/tiny yarn frustrating -- especially since I'm now working on dpns. But on Tuesday, I actually picked the thing up and worked a few inches on that sleeve.
Then there's the long awaited Bohus Sweater. It still looks like this:

I WILL get gauge this year. I WILL cast on.
And finally, there's a shawl that I made in what I must now admit is the wrong size. Laminaria is lovely...

But I find that because I didn't knit the large size, I never wear it. This lovely cashmere deserves to be worn. And, I'm pretty sure I have enough to size the shawl up a bit. And so... I'm going to do the mad thing -- I'm going to rip back the edging and the nupp section, extend the body, and re-knit the nupps and edging. Perhaps then the poor thing won't languish in my closet any more.
Unless, of course, someone I love a lot tells me that she (or he) adores it just the way it is, and begs me to give it to her (or him) as a gift. That might mean I start over all together, but it might mean that I go on to other things instead. I do love this shawl, it's just too small for the way I wear them.

That is a really lovely shawl. How big is it? I have to find time to knit some more. Living in TX, I find it does get cold enough to wear knitted garments.
Love, Susan
