I'm plugging away on the closets ... and may be forced to admit to a default resolution to clean them all out this year (heck, before the Winter is over). There is something very rewarding about opening a closet door and finding that it is no longer a hazardous proposition.
I've moved the closet frenzy upstairs, and have been tackling the Yarn Closet. Yes, it's true, I have a large closet devoted to yarn. This past week I got serious, and evicted all non-fiber related objects from the Yarn Closet (they're waiting in the general storage closet, which is due for it's decennial clean out later this month). This opened up more space than it should have, but not as much as it would have done had I not already cleaned out the guest room.
Sadly, it also revealed that I've been stuffing yarn and leftovers from finished projects, and WIPS, into the closet in bags and baskets without actually putting them away. I've also pulled things to consider them for a project, and failed to return them to their proper homes when I decide not to use them. Therefore, I have also re-inventoried the Yarn Closet. I've taken pictures of almost all of the yarn that is currently in there, and I've updated the Ravelry stash information -- with the specific storage locations identified for everything in the closet. I've still got to update the pictures of the bags of yarn on the top shelf, and a few more bits that have yet to be put away in the closet.
I'm impressed with myself, to be sure, but I know I'm not done. You'll know when I'm done when I post the updated Stash Sale Page (and link to it here). I'm down to the last of it though.
In the mean time, I'm also plugging away on two of the WIPS - one old and one new. Kitty's gloves have been frogged back, and I've restarted the fingers. The pinky is done, and the ring finger will be finished before I sleep tonight.
I've also made visible progress on the long languishing beach cover up:
I've finished one sleeve. I have to admit, I did not enjoy faking a crochet hook with that dpn, but I don't have any 9mm crochet hooks lurking about, and don't anticipate wanting one again. The edging that goes all the way around is going to be dreadful to do. I may have to borrow one from someone.
