I Lied. I said I had nothing.... but now I've got this:
I shun politics on the blog.
I shun politics a lot.
But.... PoMoGoLightly is encouraging us (with a contest) to be more aware. She encourages us to share this:
"None of us are free until ALL of us are free"
which is a summary of a quote from Mikhail Bakunin (1814–1876)
and these links Students for a free Tibet or International Campaign for Tibet.
In exchange, she and PippiKneeSocks are offering up a skein of yarn in the colorway Free Tibet (based on the Tibetan Prayer flags.)
Others I know are spending the next 17 days spinning for peace.
I know I'll be watching some of the Olympics... and am pleased that China is opening its doors to the world. But I'm also disturbed by what's happening in Tibet, and worry that the games will prove not to be a door opening, but an elaborate show to keep our eyes where they want them. I hope I'm wrong.
I've got my freedom. I look forward to a day when ALL are free. .
We now return you to your regularly scheduled blog.
Thanks for joining our campaign for awareness!
